Norlights International School Oslo is a school for the 1st-10th grade.
Norlights International School Oslo, established in 2015, is a state-funded private school in Oslo, Skådalen. Our 200 students and 30 employees represent approximately 40 nationalities. Norlights International School is a place where diversity is celebrated and all students are free to be themselves. We strongly focus on individual students and how the school can contribute to developing their most significant potential. The metro is the closest neighbour to the premises on the Holmenkollen Line.
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end, the organization works with schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging international education programs and rigorous assessments. These programs encourage students worldwide to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
Students from the age of three to nineteen can choose to educate based on the International Baccalaureate. Primary Years Program is offered to students aged 3 to 12. Students over the age of 12 are offered to follow the MYP. IB (International Baccalaureate) is a non-profit program founded in 1968, currently available in over 150 countries. The curriculum aims to help students develop and excel as people and learners. It is designed to inspire a genuine love for learning and is vital to their academic growth and progress.
The middle year program is designed for students aged 11 to 16. The program focuses on the learners, developing practical approaches to teaching with a healthy relationship, personal change and ethical responsibility. The program encourages students to become critical, creative and reflective humans. It builds upon the skills, attitudes and knowledge developed in the IB PYP. The program is unique based on its academic and personal focus, encouraging students to excel in their personal growth and studies.
The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education with final examinations that prepares students, aged 16 to 19, for success at university and life beyond. It has been designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of students. The programme has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities. The Diploma Programme prepares students for effective participation in a rapidly evolving and increasingly global society.
