PYP at NLIS
The aim of our program is to develop international minded people.
We achieve this through IB Learner Profile Attributes.Our PYP program aims to provide opportunities for our students to understand the world around them. They get exposure to alternate perspectives and a variety of working methods.
Our students become knowledgeable through the following six trans disciplinary themes
- Who we are
- Where we are in place and time
- How we express ourselves
- How the world works
- How we organize ourselves
- How we share the planet
Our teaching methods build on each student’s needs and interests. Our inquiry based method is the process that is a close collaboration between students and teachers and it further helps in moving our students from their current level of understanding to a new as well as deeper understanding.
Our students get opportunities to become lifelong learners through Approaches to learning skills.Therefore our students explore, wonder and ask; they experiment and find out, they research to seek information & they explore to find solutions.
Our students get a number of opportunities to take ownership and responsibility of their own learning. We want our students to function comfortably so that they establish values with a strong foundation upon which international mindedness will flourish and grow.
